Terrific ideas, inspiration, and resources from Trish Parnell and Franji Mayes of PKID's on today's Education Hour. CIC wants to encourage all of our members to consider and explore ways that 'new media' can help connect us all to the latest information - especially during the upcoming influenza season(s). Please consider Trish Parnell's offer to work directly with her to learn more about these resources.

Making Friends with the New Media:Using Technology and Social Networking to Promote Immunizations

Featured Speakers:

Trish Parnell, PKIDs Director
Franji Mayes, PKIDs Director of Education
Tristan Pollock, PKIDs Web 2.0 and Social Media Coordinator
PKIDs (Parents of Kids with Infectious Disease) serves families around the nation affected by infectious diseases and promotes disease prevention through multiple educational programs. PKIDs will share their experience and lessons learned in using social media to promote immunizations.

Amanda Roth, MSW, MPH, California Department of Public Health, Immunization Branch Amanda will present California’s new Shot By Shot campaign and how coalitions can capture and share personal testimonies of immunization experiences.
